Dr. Mark Levinson is Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Promise
Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson Kansas. Dr. Levinson
graduated with a degree in Microbiology from the University of
Washington, Seattle. He finished second in his graduating class at
the Wake Forest Medical School, Winston-Salem, NC and received
the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society
nomination in his 3rd year of medical training for his scholastic
achievements. From 1978 to 1980 he trained in General Surgery
at Stanford University Medical Center, Stanford, CA and completed
his training and Chief Residency in General Surgery at the
University of Arizona, Tucson. Between 1983 and 1985, he trained
in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Transplantation, and Mechanical Heart
at the University of Arizona, Tucson. After 2 years on the faculty, he moved to Seattle where
he was in private practice at Providence Medical Center for 10 years. In 1997, he moved to
Hutchinson, Kansas to inaugurate a new program in cardiac surgery at Promise Regional Medical
Center (formerly Hutchinson Hospital) where he has continue to practice for the past 11 years.

Dr. Levinson is also the Founder and Editor-In-Chief of The Heart Surgery Forum®, a
multimedia scientific journal and Internet Web site dedicated to the advancement of
techniques in cardiac surgery. He moderates the worlds largest and most active
Internet discussion group for practicing cardiothoracic surgeons. His publications
include advances in management of the total artificial heart and minimally invasive
cardiac surgery. Dr. Levinson has delivered lectures and seminars throughout the
United States and around the world focusing on new development in the field of
cardiac surgery.
